The scheme would be implemented at an estimated cost of Rs 200 crore from this fiscal with participation of teachers, volunteers, NGOs and educationists

Asha for Education organized 65 mini-schools in the state of Tamil Nadu. Small groups of children attend mini-school in a teacher’s home, open-air terraces, libraries, and other public places. Over 2000 children attend these 65 mini-schools running in more than 100 batches.

Nearly 25,000 students dropped out from schools in Coimbatore district
Sources said 1,752 surveyors from Samagra Shiksha have been tracking the 24,977 students who have not been actively engaging in educational activities in the district.
Tamil Nadu schools to reopen for classes 9 to 12 from September 1
The government said it is also considering reopening schools for kindergarten and classes 1 to 8 after September 15 after consultations and depending on the implementation of the safety norms.
