NCEE, after their first consultation of the Coalition on 16th July 2021, setup its working strategy along with three working groups to take the work of the coalition forward.

Education Support to Communities

The Working group on “Education support to communities” is working on producing a compilation of NGO interventions providing meaningful learning opportunities to students during COVID. The template for compiling the intervention experiences is available here. This group has created a policy brief laying out principles for education support, developed/curated simple resources with ideas and activities for teachers and for parents (to aid caregivers in engaging with children and support their learning), etc.

Social Mobilization

The Working Group on “Social Mobilization” organizes meetings with interested individuals and groups in different states to build a larger discourse on the education emergency, and create social pressure across the country for careful/phased school opening. The group organizes translations of materials including the note on education emergency into other languages to reach the message to parents, worker groups, communities. The group is also aiming to create small/simple video messages, posters for a wider audience.

Research

The Working Group on Research has created a compendium of research studies; prepared a policy tracker tool comparing states/ districts on their actions/decisions relating to school education. The group is conducting rapid surveys to collect data from the ground.
