Coalition Action: A Three-Pronged Approach

Three working groups set up after the consultation on 16th July are taking the work forward:

1. Social mobilization to achieve the vision of the RTE group is working to connect with groups and organizations across states to enhance our understanding of the Education Emergency, track policies and their implementation, and bring to focus, the children's right to education, as enshrined in the RTE. Meetings have been held with local groups in Maharashtra, Telangana and Jharkhand.

2. Educational support to schools and communities group is collating details of educational interventions undertaken by different organisations across the country, to support continued learning. It is curating resources used in teaching-learning during the pandemic to be shared with individuals and groups working with children. Curricular inputs for teachers and models of teacher support are being developed.

3. Research group is creating a compendium of research studies relating to school education during the pandemic and preparing a policy tracker tool comparing states on their actions/decisions relating to school education.

Write to info@educationemergency.net if you would like more information or would like to be a part of any of the working groups.

Teachers Day – Call for symbolic protest

Overwhelmingly teachers have expressed that schools should be opened. On Teachers Day, we can participate in supporting them.

Can you plan a symbolic protest (either in

your city/town’s protest place, or in a school, or on social media), holding one of these posters?

Even better if a teacher or a group of teachers can use these posters in their programs, and share photos or videos on social media. Please do share the posters in your networks, including teachers networks.
