We are planning a virtual press conference on Tue, 02.11.2021 at 5 pm to
formally release 'A Future at Stake

(the Guidelines prepared by Sajitha with inputs  from us) and the
Education Emergency Policy Tracker
<educationemergency.net/policy-tracker/>.  The aim is  to bring greater
awareness about the  education emergency and its key recommendations,
including focus  on socio-emotional learning, untied additional funding,
role of the teacher education and education administration systems in
supporting schools, engaging parents and communities into the public
discourse. Thanks to Manisha Priyam, NUEPA who has helped us in
organizing this event.

E   A T   S T A K E *_//*”*//,/**on the Covid Pandemic and Education in
India, by the *National Coalition on the Education Emergency*.

We are writing to invite you to a press conference on *Tuesday November
2, 5:00-6:30 p.m (IST), *to release an important publication : /_*A
FUTURE AT STAKE*_//,//**/which unravels the education emergency being
faced by the nation due to the COVID-19 lockdown.

The publication discusses the health, education and life implications of
the Covid-19 pandemic on 26 crore children of India. The document
identifies and discusses specific steps that need to be taken by the
national and state education systems, schools, teachers, parents and
communities to respond to the education emergency and to save the future
of our children.

awardee, and ex-head of the National Commission for Protection of Child
Rights (NCPCR) Padmasree *Smt Shantha Sinha*.*Dr. Sajitha Bashir,
*former Adviser in the Office of the Global Director of Education
Practice, World Bank, the primary author of the publication will briefly
talk about the publication. *Mr. Gurumurthy K*, Director IT for Change,
and member core group of National Coalition on the Education Emergency,
will release the *Education Emergency Policy Tracker*and a recent survey
/*TeacherSpeak*/. *Dr. Manisha Priyam*, National University of
Educational Planning and Administration (NUEPA)**will comment on the
publication. Please see agenda below.

The release event will bring together members of the *National Coalition
on the Education Emergency *who are working in different parts of India
on the issues relating to the emergency, severely affecting children
from marginalized groups, who are the most vulnerable of India’s citizens.
