ensure that students with disabilities are able to participate equally

classes were among the challenges faced by students with disabilities,

      President asks HEC to further improve Online Distance Learning

President Dr Arif Alvi has asked the Higher Education Commission of
Pakistan to further improve the Online Distance Learning Policy while
keeping in view the fast-changing requirements of the modern age and
adopting international best practices. 

He highlighted that the importance of distance learning education had
increased manifold, particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic, adding
that the distance learning programmes needed to be integrated into the
mainstream education system.

DESPITE the government’s many efforts to improve Technical and
Vocational Education and Training (TVET) in the country, stakeholders
have often described the sector as a stepchild within the education
system due to a lack of funding and problems of unstructured governance.

According to the five-year 12th Malaysia Plan (12MP), which was unveiled
at the Dewan Rakyat on Sept 27, there were 1,295 TVET institutions – 640
public, 633 private and 22 state – that offer multiple programmes in the
country as of December last year.

Covid-19 thanks to the excessive fees being charged by private schools
which has become a major issue with parents.

With most schools closed in lockdown 2020, there has been an impact on
the education of children. Since schools all over India had to shift to
online education, parents had to arrange a laptop or a smartphone with
unlimited data as well alongside giving tuition fees to the school for
teaching online.

      Workshop on OER, Techno-pedagogy and Online Assessment for Teacher
      Educators of Odisha

Within the mandate of National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, University
Grants Commission (UGC) India has developed blended learning guideline
for higher education. Guidelines will provide better learning
opportunities to the learners. For better implementation of blended
learning in higher education institutions, Commonwealth Educational
Media Centre for Asia, New Delhi in collaboration with Ravenshaw
University, Odisha conducted capacity building programme for teacher
educators of Odisha in implementation of blended learning in a project mode.

In this regard, CEMCA organised 2nd Capacity Building Programme of the
project using blended learning pedagogy for the Teacher Educators of
Odisha on Open Educational Resources, Online Assessments and creating
project proposals from 5-9 October 2021.
