Dear all
The UNICEF report released today is way off mark while reporting on children who were able to access online learning over the last 18 months. The numbers they have given could get our Govts to start spending the already meagre finances made available for education on trying to get some digital ed. in place.
We should write to the authors that the data we have from many places does not correspond to what they have stated:
"Following the lockdown, an increasing number of schools offered online classes. For example, in June-July (Phase 1), 22 per cent of the rural and 31 per cent of the urban mothers of 6-19-year-old children reported that their children were attending online classes, but the corresponding figures during October-November (Phase 3) improved to 50 per cent (rural) and 74 per cent (urban), respectively"
Also, any ready ref. we have on data w.r.t to online access from the Govt. records?
Thanks & regards,
rishi
